Fun and a new canvas started for WOYWW

I've had a bit of fun this week.
The theme for APR was Make me laugh
and so I did a silly picture
and an even sillier ditty to go with it.
If you want a laugh, have a look

Today is Wednesday and so
I will show you my desk
actually desks today.

This is where I created my little piece
of fun.
I finally got to use my Inktense pencils
and they were fun but they don't really like
the rougher texture of my watercolour paper.
I would recommend smooth paper for a better result.

These represent some of my blogger friends
but they are better seen here.

This is what I am currently working on.
No, not cleaning up the mess behind it,
the canvas!!
The mess will be there tomorrow
and the next day, and the next....

I have been wanting to paint these little beauties for so long
and now I have decided it's time to get back to some
serious painting.

I love doing all the quick little fun challenges and I will still do them
but in the background, I will be working on this.

I will share the journey,
warts and all (eek).

So, while I get cracking
and mixing up paint,
hop on over to Julia's
see what's on the desks
all around the world
on this beautiful sunny day.

  1. Hi VonnyK,

The pencils look great. Interesting that they don't really like the watercolor paper. Seems that my watercolor pencils are the same way!

Can't wait to see your canvas in progress. Those fishies already are showing their personalities!

Please visit - blog candy is announced!!

    Happy WOYWW

  5. WOW Yvonne I love the canvas. Can't wait to see it finished.
We had a fantastic die cutting workshop in my studio yesterday with REDANNE demonstrating and teaching us the art of this fabulous craft. So I know now what you are all talking about. Today I am looking at things on your desks with a more understanding eye. YIPPEE !

  8. You don’t look in that much of a mess Vonny, so I wouldn’t worry.

I’ve just been to have a closer look at the herd of cows and have to say, they are brilliant….and the verse. So bright and colourful and very funny too.
The new work looks very interesting. I look forward to seeing its progress.

    Happy Crafting!

  20. Love what you are doing, Vonny. The Inktense pencils are brilliant, aren't they. I haven't tried them on textured paper, and tend to use them on the really smooth card that I do my zentangle drawings on. Thanks for the tip, anyway! The fish drawing is awesome and I can't wait to see how you paint it. Beautiful work!

Thanks for your visit, and lol at your comments ha ha!! I'll let you into a little secret. When we move, it's not just the lounge I shall be taking over. It's the whole house. Just don't tell my hubby!!!

    Happy WOYWW,

  21. I agree with your sentiments that the mess will be there tomorrow and the next day and the next... so why put cleaning it up on the to-do list? Creating is so much more fun! I love the big canvas and it will look super with the school of fish on it. It was great getting to see your desk this time too. It looks like a great place to play.

  23. I can't wait to see the progress on the large(very large!) canvas. I love koi and wish I still lived where I could have a pond. I now have a beautiful cobalt blue male "King" beta. His name is George, and frequently makes a bubble nest.Thank you for your input on my blog about the Twinkling H2O's.

  24. love what you are doing. I have not tried the Inktense Pencils myself. It will be interesting to see the finished Art piece.
I haven't joined in WOYWW this week as I took the little people out while the weather was good.
