Oh the pain, coffee or tea? Luv them both.

I can barely see through the haze which is covering my eyes.
I have done it again,
I didn't learn from the zentangle incident
(almost total blindness, with knives digging into my eyes)
and being the lazy bum and twit
(does that become bumwit??)
that I am,
I thought I could use an old halfdone painting
to finish for this weeks
of Coffee or Tea.

Now I do love both tea and coffee
but at a pinch, I think
coffee would win.
So to my painting, which was abandoned
a few years ago
and now I know why.
What kind of fool
paints a crinkled satin background
and a glass vase.
Oh yes, that would be me,
the bumwit!

So without further ado
here is the rotten thing.

Coffee cups!
Yes, I know the background still needs work
and I'm not happy with the glass vase yet,
but quite frankly,
I don't want to play anymore
and it can go back into the pile
for a few more years.
Not sure if the picture I took is
blurry or if it is my eyes,
hoping it's my eyes,
sorry if it's not.

If you want to see some great coffee and tea art,
pop on over to
and also have a look at all the people who have painted
for the Paint Party Friday
and enjoy.
I need a coffee.

  1. OMG, Vonny... and you don't LIKE the vase???

Holy cow, what a spectacular painting! I absolutely love those dotty cups! And the background is so well done and the vase is perfect, don't change a thing, just stick a price on that sucker and call it perfect and DONE.
Thanks for playing in my Play ROom, I always love it when friends come over to play!

  2. Hookey doodle.....that crinkled background is amazing....
I'd say you need (coffee) caffeine to paint that....great job

  3. This is such an accomplished painting Von, satin and glass! You are a glutton for punishment, I like the fact that you got this out and did more on it, pushing your boundaries and challenging yourself is what makes you improve and become a better artist.

Fantastic last two WOYWW posts, great to see your clean studio, and you're easel up, makes all the difference to have a cluttered free space and things set up ready to work. Make sure you keep on top of the clutter, it will be easier to maintain that way-put things back in their place at the end of a session.

    Thanks for sharing xx

  4. I love the background, totally amazing! Beautiful cups and how fun it would be to drink coffee from one. Very nice. Happy PPF!

  5. I must have those cups. They are so cute! If they're made for tea, I'll switch from coffee just so I can use them. And I think your painting is looking great!!

  6. Wow! This painting is amazing!!! The crinkle background is so realistic! You do faboulous work lady!

  7. Wow this is wonderful! I just love the crinkly background - it looks like I could touch it - and the vase is great. The light in your picture is amazing. What pretty coffee cups!!

  9. I thought it was a photo at first... O__O

  23. Satin and glass you masochist... I avoid both like the plague, but you have done an awesome job... like really really awesome... and if I pretend they are tea cups instead of coffee, then it pretty much will qualify as perfect... you are sooo much better than you give yourself credit for...xx

  30. no - I cannot accept the 'bumwit' or any of it -- this is the highest calibre thing there is!! Love it & could watch it for hours. Watercolour? Whatever it is, it rocks!!

  31. You've taken on two of the hardest things to paint in my opinion-glass & fabric! I think you did an awesome job, and I adore the tea cups, too!

  32. You're much too hard on yourself! Your work is beautiful! The colors are so vibrant and the composition is perfect!! I have to say, the bumwit comment was funny!! Sounds like something I would say!

  33. Thank you, Vonny, fellow polka-dot lover! for your comments on my blog.
That is amazing that you painted that whole crinkled background. What a wonderful workout in values!
