Polaroid poop on WOYWW

I'm back at my desk and all alone, at last!!
Here is my desk,
all busy with arty farty things.
To get myself back into the swing of things
I've been doing some sketches in my new sketchbooks.
Gotta love Santa.
One sketchbook has a very special cover, thanks to
the wonderful Lunch Lady Jan.
I love it.
I decided to do a sketch of my favourite pens.
Yes that is a Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver pen in the middle :)
It's been a long hot summer but at last there is a breeze
cooling us down a bit here.
I think the heat got to me a bit this year as I did
more than a few crazy things.
One thing was very special.
My girls had been complaining that their
loo roll holder kept falling off the wall
(it was one of those suction thingys)
so I decided to get them a new one.
Well of course, it's my motherly duty to give them
nice things and so I set about finding a
very special loo roll holder and....
voila, the Polaroid Poop machine!!
Yes, I found a loo roll holder in the shape of
a Polaroid camera, complete with lens and buttons.
Big Miss refused to use the loo as she was sure
her bum would end up on the internet.
I just can't understand the kids of today,
no sense of humour.
I have a giggle every time I pass their loo.

There is also the ipad versus blonde trouble
but I'll leave that for another day.

Today was also my first day back to art class
and I did a little bit more to my birdie painting.
I drew in the birds head and put a little light
on the branches. Still a long way to go but it's
looking good so far.

I'm keeping it short and sweet,
don't want to overdo it on my first day back.

So why not hop on over to
and see what's on the other work desks
around the world.

  21. Welcome back Vonny! It seems we have both just returned to our studios after a break! That is quite a selection of sketchbooks you have there... any favorites? Love your pen sketch but the loo roll holder cracked me up! Good job I don't have a weak bladder or I'd have needed to use it! ;0)

  24. Love your painting. Corymbia must be in flower all along the east coast. Could not stop giggling over the Polaroid paper holder and you have immortalised the moment.... brilliant. Let me know what you think of the "Stillman & Birn" Alpha series sketchbooks. So many different types of sketchbooks and people give them a good review. But I think I would trust your opinion. I wasted $30 on a Fabriano Venezia Book and the paper was such a struggle to use. Now I have started making my own books (time consuming) but at least the paper is good. Have a lovely week.

  29. Hi Vonny - good to see you. Sorry it has taken all week to get round... life! You know the sort of things!
Great sketches - great you are back at your art class - am loving the bird painting. That loo roll holder is something else - it would go SO well with John's new, posh, all singing, all dancing, loo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you like the crochet efforts - took that wavy one to church yesterday - it survived 2 minutes and was snapped up by someone in aid of Parental Care Ministries. Need to start again - obviously popular!!!
Thanks so much for the lovely bookmark you sent in with the Christmas card. It's on my desk as |I write! Not found its way into a book yet - still being gazed at in awe.
    Take care. God bless.
