Back at the desk, well almost, just for WOYWW

Happy New Year to all,

it's going to be a good one,

I can just feel it.

I hope Santa visited each and everyone of you.

I was spoilt with some wonderful things

and here are a few of them, sitting on my desk

just in time for What's on you work desk wednesday.

Feel free to visit the other desks on WOYWW.

First, my biggest present,

my new Canon Pixma.
My old printer was one of the first Pixmas and this new one is just incredible.
I have only had a little play with it and I can't wait to spend some time in here making some prints.

The next photo is of my very special presents

The first is a beautiful art deco calendar from my wonderful friend Angie, in England

and the second is a journal that I received from my daughter Audrey.

Some of you may recognise the picture, it is one of Tracey Fletcher Kings journals
and it is really bright and gorgeous.

I have not had much of a chance to come in and do any arty things for some time
and I am suffering severe withdrawal.

I did get close to doing some art on Audreys Christmas present.  She received (among a thousand other things) a wii U draw tablet and I was actually allowed to have a play.

It is not exactly the best piece of art I have produced
but you have to understand that I had this tiny little drawing tablet

(I have a big Wacom tablet in my room) on my lap,

a big fat parrot on my shoulder

and a child with a guinea pig sitting almost on top of me.

Here is the best of the worst I produced.

The amazing thing is that I was able to put the image on an SD card and stick it into my new printer, which then put it into my computer.  My computer is close to 10 years old and they didn't have slots and things back then.

If I am really lucky, my little miss will allow me some time

to do a bit of drawing over the next few weeks.

I will really need something to keep my sanity

as I will have a thousand school books to cover in that nasty sticky stuff

that sticks all over me and not the book.

Then there are the uniforms, I always have to take the hems up or down,

putting name tags on everything,

getting lunch boxes and drink bottles,

arrrgh it drives me crazy!!

So a little drawing time isn't too much to ask for is it?

I will tell you when we finish that darn game of Monopoly!!

Have a great week.

  1. I think that is a beautiful drawing and considering all the animal and human life forms you were holding not bad at all!! Lovely to have a piece of technology that works well.

  2. Love the drawing you did! It would look super on any card.
    Happy WOYWW

  3. Well have fun in between everything else.
Have fab wednesday hugs judex 10

  4. Cor, I'm impressed with all the techy wizardry you possess - that's not my strong point, so I'm always full of admiration for those who are at ease with it!! Sounds like you had fun drawing, I wish you had a photo of the moment of creation. Would have loved to have seen the parrot and daughter 'helping' you!!
    Happy New Year!
    Hugs, LLJ #34 xx

  5. Oohhh Love the new printer! So cool that you can print the Udraw picture...or reverse engineer an upload at any event! I think Monopoly is banned in my house as we have yet to finish a game and it usually ends up with someone storming out of the room.

  6. Happy New year to you. I hope 2012 is a full, busy, fun and creative time for you.

  7. Love your drawing & the printer now you can put it on your creations, fab, Hugs May x x x

  8. Hi Vonny

    Luv Angie GB

  10. Wow, isn't it amazing what you can do on a game console, I love the poppy..and sincerely hope you have time to do something other than get stuck in sticky stuff! Recognised Tracey's art, lucky you, how thoughtful of your daughter.

  11. Wow! You had a wonderful Christmas! I love that you can draw on the Wii, I did not know about that! I hope getting ready for back to school isn't too time consuming and you can find time to be creative!

  12. A great first crafty peek of the year. I love your poppy! Happy new year!

  13. Love the gifts you received - I have had a Canon pixma for some time now and love it - the best printer I've ever had (Hazel, WOYWW 108) x

  14. I think your child-parrot-guinea pig inspired drawing came out great. You got some great gifts to play with. How fun!

  15. I think the poppy is absolutely lovely and especially like that it was done in surroundings of love! I would have loved to have seen a pic of you, your child, parrot and guinea pig together, I bet it was a sweet moment!

  16. So happy you got one of the journals for Christmas... and the printer looks so perfect... as to the book covering and uniform hemming ... you have my sympathies... so happy that Phoebe is past all that... as to the swimming with the guinea pig... made me laugh out loud... I thought Mushu was bad, but that takes the cake... can't wait to get them back to school so we can catch up!!!!

  17. Ohhh love your new printer! Its not that much stuff everything s in its own themed box's and they mostly are not even half full, and theirs 3 shelves of books and magazines, cant do without a good book!

  18. Your Poppy is lovely and I am sure the printer will be fun too.

  19. A parrot, guinea pig and children watching and you still manage to draw a wonderful poppy! But I'm partial to poppies. Nicely done!!

I am so behind on the technology front - haven't even heard of the wii drawing thingie.

    Happy New Year!
