After what seems like forever,
I am back and you thought you were
rid of me (mwa ha ha).
I have a new computer,
two in fact. It seems that when one computer
dies, the laptop also dies, so sad
but in a way good.
Now I have this little beauty
She's an all in one 23" screen.
There's no more whacking my knee on the cpu
under the desk!!
Here's the old one, complete with knee destroyer. |
Even though the screen is bigger I seem to be able to fit
everything in a little neater than before.
I really like the sleek new keyboard too.
The only trouble I am having is working out this new fangled
Windows 8.
I had Windows XP before and it's just a little
bit different (cough cough).
I would show you my cute little white laptop too,
but it took me so long to figure out how to get the photo of the big computer on here that I can't remember how I did it.
Bear with me and I might be able to get something by next week.
I haven't done any art since I've been away from the internet,
yes, I know, I'm just a slacker.
This week won't be any different as I got a
one hour facial for mothers day from my daughter
and I'm having that plus getting my hair done this week,
so no time for art.
I'll start again next week, promise.
Right now I'm just so happy to be back in the blogosphere
and hope to catch up with all the blogs that I've missed.
Speaking of blogs,
why don't you hop on over to Julia's Stamping Ground
and see what the other bloggers
have on their desks,
this very cold
(it's autumn and cloudy here)
wednesday.
PS. My thoughts are with the poor people who suffered in the tornado.
I hope all bloggers are safe and well.
I hope all bloggers are safe and well.
Hello Vonny,
ReplyDeleteNice computer! I have the same little netbook for years now and am thinking I need a regular size laptop - there's been more squinting with each passing year!!!
Doesn't it just cause a bit of frustration when there are changes between operating systems? Just enough to throw you off too!
I'm getting a jump on visiting desks this week - yay.
Happy WOYWW
Peace,
Kay (no # yet)
Love the new PC. I have an All in one and I love it, mines a touch screen which I hardly dare touch incase I get glue on it lol! All that extra place for card stock! Hehe your space looks great! Have a great WOYWW xx Jan (68)
ReplyDeleteOoh all this technical stuff Vonny, it's to much for me. Enjoy your pampering session

Hey Vonny - good to have you back! Yeah, nice new toys and erm..figuring stuff out..it's an change thing. The older Iget, the more change resistant I appear to become!Enjoy your girly sessions, definitely worth sacrificing other me time for!
ReplyDeleteGreat new computer - but everyone I know who has W8 hates it.... good luck! Helen 5
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. Windows 8 drives us mad, hope you figure it out.
ReplyDeleteWaving hi from the bears @#90 this week
It always seems to take time getting around new technology, but you get there in the end. Have a good day. Francesca #27
ReplyDeleteYay...she's back!
ReplyDeleteBut hey Von come on...two puters?!!?!
Isn't that a little self indulgent, she say whilst she's having to use a borrowed one. I'm still in mourning over the demise of my laptop (well that's my excuse until I get a new one) ;D
I've heard so much about Windows 8 that I'll just wish you luck!
Have fun being pampered :D
oh my look at that amazing computer how lucky are you and it makes for one very neat working area. Enjoy and welcome back
ReplyDeleteSending hugs and hoping you have a great day

ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Congrats on the new computers. That looks like a huge screen to me. Enjoy your fun stuff this week. :)
ReplyDeleteLove new computers, it takes a it of time to get used to it but I never look back. good to get rid of the knee bruiser
ReplyDeleteBridget #11
SO good to hear from you my friend, and glad you have a new less bulkier computer to play with. I hate learning new technologies, one of the things about getting older that I do not like....why can't something just work great forever? lol Just wanted to say thank you so much for voting for me, it sure means a lot to have support! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥
ReplyDeleteI know about getting use to windows 8. My laptop died and I had to go to that window. My what a learning curve but I have it together enough now to use it. You will too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Know about your problem with these new programs. I changed over to a MacBook and am still learning how to do things months down the line. Why won't it behave like my PC did?
ReplyDeleteStick at it, you will win.
Hugs, Neet xx 2 - and thanks for your visit to me x
I agree, I have a Dell all in one and it is so nice not having a tower taking up much needed space! Yours looks fabulous... have to admit I am still on Windows 7 but am tempted by 8!! Enjoy your facial and hair do... nothing like a bit of pampering to make you feel fabulous! Annette #23
ReplyDeleteYou'll get the hang of windows 8 in no time. Thanks for visiting me and entering the spoon draw BJ#51
ReplyDeleteI have the same computer I think... and windows 8 is a bit of a pin but you will sort it in no time... glad you are back and hope that next week there will be some art to share as well...xx
ReplyDeleteOoh nice and shiny! We got a new laptop very recently and it's got Win8 on it too, haven't even had time to look at it and figure things out yet though! At least I use Win7 at work, so it's not such a huge shock as our old pc was XP too. Went to England for three weeks in APril/May, took books for the plane and quiet times, your bookmarks got a lot of comments! Nice to see you back again.

ReplyDeletesorry it's taken so long to reply - the days have just evaporated!
happy belated WOYWW x
Very nice! Love the littler keyboard and the way everything fits together. I read your previous post about your cup. I think everyone should have a special cup to drink their tea or coffee from...logical to me! Thanks for visiting my desk this week. Vickie
